Congrats to Japan on 18th Little League World Series Win

By Paul Langhorst on 8/31/2015

Congrats to Team Japan on their comeback win to beat the Lewisberry, Pa team 18-11. Japan has now won 11 Little League World Series titles.

Team USA scored well in the first inning, jumping out  to a 10-2 lead, but it was all Team Japan after the 3rd inning.  In the 3rd, Team Japan took a 13-11 lead and left Team USA in their dust.  It was a high scoring game, with many homers clearing the walls by a wide margin.  Perhaps its time to expand the field size in light of better trained players and equipment!

I just wonder how many young players we watched will make it to the big leagues one day?  According to this report by the Little League Organization, it appears there are at least 15 players in the MLB Hall of Fame that played in the Little League World Series.  I'm sure quite a few of the players that we watched will one day make it to the "show." The Little League organization and their annual Little League World Series are to be congratulated for their role in preparing so many fine young athletes for a future in baseball and for providing an exciting event to watch.

Congrats Team Japan.  Team USA will get you next year!
